Happy Humpday, Loves!!  Do I look like I could’ve been at the Golden Globes on Sunday??  I got this dress awhile ago on sale at Macy’s.  I was shopping with a friend who was trying to find something to wear to a black tie wedding.  This dress didn’t work for her, but she thought it would look good on me…and she was right! Haha. So, I bought it.  It’s not always easy to find a gown with sleeves that doesn’t look matronly.  This dress is absolutely perfect to wear to a gala, awards show, black tie wedding, or whatever occasion you feel like wearing a gown.    If you are looking for a gown for such an event, this post is for you!  You can go with something like the all gold look above OR go with a look inspired by the Golden Globes!

Did any of you watch the Golden Globes on Sunday?  There were a lot of great moments, both on the red carpet and on the stage.  A few of my favorite stage moments were: 1. Tracee Ellis Ross winning the Golden Globe for her role on Blackish!!  I love Tracee.  I’ve loved her since she was Joan on Girlfriends.  If I had a penny for every time someone said that I reminded them of Joan from Girlfriends, I would have….a bunch of pennies.  Also, Blackish is one of my favorite shows.  It’s hilarious! I laugh out loud every episode.  If you don’t watch the show yet, you should! 2. Donald Glover winning for his show, Atlanta, and shouting out to Bad and Boujee, black people in Atlanta, and his Nigerian friends. 3. Ryan Gosling’s sweet acceptance speech.  4. Meryl Streep…nuff said.  Anyway, enough about the awards, let’s talk about the red carpet fashion! Lily Collins wins the award for my best dressed look of the night.  She looks amazing!

Long sleeves are in!  Issa looks amazing in all white. (If you haven’t watched Insecure, you need to!)

Statement sleeves were a huge trend on the red carpet for the Golden Globes.  There were a lot of cold-shoulder gowns.  It looks like that’s a trend to watch this year!
