Dress: MODChic Couture (in black, the one I’m wearing is available in store) // Clutch: MODChic (in store) // Shoes: Nine West (Similar, Similar, Similar) // Watch: Michael Kors // Cuff: Similar, Similar
Good day, Friends! I hope your weekend was as awesome as mine! If you follow me on Instagram (like you should), then you saw the awesome time I had in Dallas at my friend’s wedding. My Instastories were LIT. Lol. So much fun! Check out my wedding guest style here in case you missed it! For the record, the dress was made by my tailor. He did a good job, right??
Anyway, on Instagram and Facebook, you may have seen me promoting an event that’s coming up this Saturday, July 15, at MOD Chic Couture in Rice Village. I’ve mentioned MOD Chic in a previous post on the blog. The event where I first met Claire Sulmers of Fashion Bomb Daily took place at MOD Chic. In my previous post, I said that MOD Chic was “an awesome boutique in Rice Village that I hope to collaborate with in the future.” Well, the time for collaboration has come! A few weeks ago, 4 of my blogger friends – Chigi, Chimee, Chantal, and Bianca – and I (collectively known as Blog N Connect) met with the owner of MOD Chic. Btw, she’s Nigerian and she’s fab! She told us of an upcoming event she wanted to have at her store to appreciate her clients (current and future) and introduce MOD Chic Cares, a campaign to provide school uniforms for children in Nigeria. It sounded like a fab event and a great cause, so we decided we wanted to be a part of it. The event will take place this Saturday evening, July 15, from 6pm-9pm at MOD Chic on 6125 Kirby Dr. It will be a lot of fun! There will be light bites, wine and champagne, discounts (25% off everything), giveaways, and more!!! I’ll be there with the rest of Blog N Connect to offer styling tips. Hope to see you there!! You can register for the event here.
In honor of the event, this week I will be posting a couple of looks from MOD Chic. One thing I will note is that some of the items in the store have a higher price point (including this dress) than what I generally like to pay, but I think the expensive items look expensive and there are also many reasonably priced items and sale items. I love the dress in this look. It’s super MOD and super chic. My favorite part of the dress is the shape of the skirt. I’ve always been a fan of skirts that have the tulip shape. The dress is probably one of the first things that caught my eye in the store. I paired the dress with fab floral pumps from Nine West, a gorgeous burgundy clutch from MOD Chic, and gold accessories.
