Chigi’s Outfit: Head over to Chigi’s World for the deets!
Happy Thursday, Friends!!! I hope you’re having a great week so far! Did you enjoy Part 1 of my collaboration with Chigi’s World?? If you missed it, make sure to check it out here. Today, we are closing out our Ankara collaboration with 5 must-have looks for spring!! Make sure to check out Chigi’s blog for her take! Both of our looks have several elements that are very “in” this spring. My 5 must-haves looks/elements are 1. Cold Shoulder, 2. Statement Sleeves, 3. Shift Dresses, 4. Ankara bags, and 5. Mixed Prints. Although we’re focusing on must-have Ankara elements, there are so many other great spring elements demonstrated in these looks like the pop of color bag, block heels, tassel earrings, fun sunglasses, fun shoes, etc etc. Check out my Spring Wishlist for more spring ideas! There are so many fun looks to play with this spring!
First, let’s talk about the must-have elements in my look. As I am typing this, I just now realize that my look has all 5 of the must-have elements! The cold-shoulder shift dress has statement/ruffle sleeves and is paired with an Ankara bag that is a different print than the dress! I enjoy cold-shoulder dresses. For those of us that don’t feel comfortable wearing sleeveless even in the spring or summertime, cold shoulder and off the shoulder looks are a great way to stay cooler while still having your arms covered. Shift dresses are a great addition to any wardrobe by providing a lot of flexibility because they are generally less fitted, especially around the waist and hips. Finding a shift dress that is flattering can be tricky, but the key is to finding one that works for your body shape (more on that in a future post). I’ll talk about the remaining must-have elements while discussing Chigi’s look.
Chigi’s look incorporates two of my favorite must-have elements: mixed prints and statement sleeves! Don’t you just LOVE her dress?? As I mentioned in Part 1 of our collabo, Chigi is a designer. She is wearing a dress from her line, Chic Creations and Collections. Many of her designs have mixed prints and statement sleeves, which I love! I love that her dress combines the two different Ankara prints in such a chic and unique way, like the addition of the contrasting puff sleeves. Chigi loves mixing prints as much as I do. There are so many options when it comes to mixing prints. You can buy something with the prints already mixed (like Chigi’s dress) or you can create the look yourself by mixing different print separates (like here) or adding accessories with a contrasting print (like the Ankara bag in my look)! As a side note, the Ankara bag I am carrying is from Chigi’s line too. Check out her site for similar designs!
I hope you all enjoyed this collabo!! Have a great week, and thanks so much for reading!!
