Boot Shapers: Amazon // Shoe Stackers: Amazon
Organizing your closet can feel like a full-time job. From shoes and handbags to belts and jewelry, it’s easy to get overwhelmed trying to figure out the best stylish storage ideas. I love being organized, but not necessarily the process of getting organized. That’s why I worked with a professional organizer, Julia from The Organizing Method, to help refresh my closet. In this post, I’m sharing the best space-saving solutions and tools that transformed my once chaotic closet into a streamlined, stylish space.
1. Jewelry Organizer Stand
I love displaying my everyday jewelry on this jewelry stand. The stand makes it so easy to complete my outfits when getting ready. It’s a nice grab-and-go solution for the jewelry I wear regularly.
There are many variations of a jewelry organizer and not everyone has the space to put everything on display, so an in-drawer option might work better for you.
2. Velvet Jewelry Tray
For organizing your jewelry in a drawer, I suggest a stackable jewelry tray with dividers. This jewelry tray allows you to lay everything out in a neat and organized manner. An added benefit of having everything in a jewelry drawer is that it isn’t as exposed to the elements and will last a bit longer. I put these trays in my new closet drawer system, and I’m loving it so far.
3. Sunglasses Organizer
One of my favorite new stylish storage ideas is this acrylic sunglasses organizer, especially since I have so many sunglasses. This particular organizer holds 5 pairs and is stackable, so I’m able to shuffle the bins and easily find the pair I’m looking for. Other options for stylish sunglasses storage include trays and stands.
4. Acrylic shelf dividers
I purchased clear acrylic shelf dividers for handbags and folded clothes. At first, I didn’t think they would make much of a difference, but I was pleasantly surprised. The purse organizer offers support for both my structured and non-structured bags to help them stand upright. The acrylic shelf dividers are perfect for my folded clothes, like denim jeans and sweaters. And, I love that if I want to fit more on my shelves, it will keep everything pretty and organized.
5. Hat hooks
I added hat hooks to my wall for extra hanging space. You can also use wall-mounted hooks for your handbags that have straps and handles, too. Depending on your needs, you could scatter individual and various-size hooks on your wall or get a wall-mounted plate with several hooks on it for additional storage.
6. Clear shoe stackers
These shoe stackers help keep my shoes organized while also saving space. They allow me to fit so many more shoes on my bottom shelf, and they’re so easy to assemble. Depending on your shoe storage needs, there are also rotating shoe towers, tiered shoe shelves, and plastic foldable shoe racks. They also make stackable plastic storage bins that have magnetic lids, keeping your items dust free.
7. Boot shapers
For tall boots at the top of my shelves, I use these boot shapers. When it comes to protecting the structure and integrity of your boots, these shapers are a must-have. These fit inside your boots to keep the leather or fabric from drooping and sagging. Or, if you want to save money, you can always use tissue paper or recycled shipping packaging like plastic air pillows and bubble wrap to fill up your boots when not in use, depending on the boot structure.
8. Belt Storage Solutions
I store my belts a couple of different ways depending on the style. I use a belt organizer to neatly display a few of my favorites, and I also hang several belts on a belt hanger to keep them visible and easy to grab. If you’re short on hanging space, rolling your belts and storing them in a drawer is another great option—just roll them with the buckle on the inside to prevent scuffing.
These are the specific tools that I found to be game-changers in organizing my unorganized closet. Again, your system depends largely on your space and your personal preference. Think of what might work best for you.
9. Cubes or Bins
One way to store slippers and socks (and other items that you want hidden) are cubes or bins. This is a useful solution for small items. You might also want a lightweight, slim-profile step ladder to keep in your closet so you can easily grab items stored on high shelves.
